Mark Zuckerberg has been a strong proponent of fashion within the metaverse, and with Meta’s new Avatar Store, popular brands are selling digital designer clothing. The problem, however, is that some say it doesn’t look good.
Meta to Launch Avatar Store with Real-Life Brands
According to the story by The Verge, the digital clothing that Meta wants to sell its users was described as “poorly rendered designer clothing.” Meta is launching the Avatar Store, where brands like Prada, Balenciaga, and Thom Browne clothing can be bought.
Of course, these aren’t just limited to rendered clothing, buyers can also choose other more daring things like suits, motocross outfits, logo hoodies, and more. Meta’s Twitter post showed what looked like Avatars of Zuck and Eva Chen, director of fashion partnerships at Instagram, in different designer clothing, which looked quite like game skins.
